Problem

This iconic stadium, and hosts to the Dubai World Cup, one of the world’s leading horse racing events, had previously encountered access problems when previously moving heavy vehicles. On this occasion they needed to manoeuvre extremely heavy ‘jumbotron’ TV trucks to their filming location along a tarmac road. The chosen access route had severe cambered edges and therefore the logistics team needed to eliminate the risk of the trucks tipping over as well as to protect the tarmac surface.

Solution

EuroMat®, Zigma®’s premium heavy duty man handable access mat, was chosen for its unique ‘chevron traction™’ , delivering maximum sideways as well as forward grip, and its 80 tonne load bearing capabilities. In certain areas along the tarmac road, the EuroMat® were laid and connected five layers high in order to flatten out the effect of the camber and ensure that the tarmac surface remained undamaged.

Verdict

The heavy and karge V trucks arrived safely to their destination. The successful deployment of the EuroMat® ensured the prestigious event could proceed safely with no damage to the roadway and without any complications for the truck, work crews or pedestrians.
