On the 1 March we will be launching the latest addition to our temporary access and ground protection range ideal for the event industry. The EconoMat™ has been developed during a time of austerity, cost cutting and a change in demands.

Always striving to push forward with innovative new products and to meet the needs of today’s market, it was recognised there was a need for an alternative product within the market place, offering many of the same benefits as the company’s other established and market leading products, EuroMat® and TuffTrak®, but at a much lower cost.

EconoMat™ provides a new lightweight but strong temporary access and ground protection solution and is especially suited to the event industry. The mat measures 2400mm x 1200mm x 10mm, is made from 100% recycled polyethylene and is 100% recyclable. Its light weight of 29kg makes it easy to manuover.

The EconoMat™ also features an ‘Alu’ traction surface, connection holes and makes it the ideal choice for outdoor events, temporary pedestrian walkways and marquee flooring as well as access for light weight construction equipment and vehicles.

Awards success for Zigma

The Event Industry Awards aim to recognise some of the ‘movers and shakers’ at the forefront in driving the event industry forward in the UK and are judged by the industry and this year, Zigma entered the ’2011 TESA Event Industry Awards’ product of the year category with their heavy duty road mat, TuffTrak®.

The awards luncheon took place on the 31 March at the Soho Theatre, London and included a guest speaker followed by the announcement of The Event Awards winners and runners up. Kris Heard, Sales Director UK and Europe for Zigma attended the event and hear that Zigma were runners up in the ‘product of the year’ category. Kris Heard, Sales Director for UK and Europe said ‘This is the first year, as a company we have entered one of our products in to the awards arena. It is a great achievement for us that TuffTrak® was placed as a runner up in the Product of the Year category and we look forward to entering again next year.”

Zigma Ground Solutions researches, designs and develops premium products for the global temporary access and ground protection industry and is looking to further expand its reach into the Europeon market place.

Zigma are currently setting up an on the ground European operation and require an experienced Sales Executive/Manager to oversee the operation.

The candidate needs to have at least 5-10 years key sales experience along with good account management skills. They need to be German or German speaking and be able to communicate well in English. The position will require the individual to be out on the road making appointments and visiting customers/distributors 3-4 days a week. They need to be self motivated with a proven track record within sales, a good communicator and be able to prioritise and plan their time well. They must be enthusiastic and ambitious with a desire to succeed. The position will report directly to the UK/European Sales Director.

Zigma attends Europe’s largest Wind Energy Exhibition in Brussels

On Monday 14 March 2011, the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) opened its doors to the industry. The 4 day annual exhibition and Europe’s largest Wind Energy Event introduced over 200 top speakers, CEOs and EU policy makers along with the European climate Action Commissioner who debated EU policy beyond 2020. Key industry decision makers and bankers also debated the investment strategies required for the future to ensure targets for the reduction in greenhouse gases by 80-95% by 2050 are achieved.
Renewable energy is a key agenda point for the future across Europe. Kris Heard, UK and European Sales Director for Zigma Ground Solutions attended the event and found it to be a perfect opportunity to meet and network with both Wind Turbine and Solar farm manufacturers and contractors. Kris said “Renewable energy is top of the agenda throughout Europe but along with environmentally friendly energy solutions there is also a requirement for the construction of these sites to also be environmentally friendly. At present, the common use of access for these sites has been stone haul roads, however the introduction of Zigma’s heavy duty temporary access panel, TuffTrak, means major companies are looking to utilise TuffTrak to save both time and money as well as prevent further environmental damage.”

Zigma Ground Solutions announce new partnership with The Colli Group at Samoter, Italy

Zigma Ground Solutions launched both TuffTrak® and EuroMat® and announced its new partnership with Italian based drill equipment manufacturer Collie Equipment at Samoter 2011, the International Triennial Earth Moving and Building Machinery Exhibition.
Samoter is a well-established part of the industry calendar and attracted a range of exhibitors including Italian and International earth moving brands, concrete, road building, drilling, tunnelling, quarrying, crushing, demolition and recycling, hosting and handling, transport and vehicles and components.

Zigma products successfully launch in the USA

Zigma Ground Solutions announced New South Equipment as their exclusive distributor for their key products EuroMat and TuffTrak. Zigma Ground Solutions is the first European company to successfully launch their temporary access and ground protection products in the USA.

New South Equipment provides access and matting solutions to a number of customers across the US and supports projects in energy exploration, pipeline construction, high voltage / line transmission, heavy construction, environmental remediation and ancillary industries.  New South Equipment will be introducing the TuffTrak® and EuroMat® to the marketplace from late October, and Zigma can now compete directly with the long established US temporary access companies.

New premises for Zigma Ground Solutions and Trakmats Europe

In July 2010, Zigma Ground Solutions moved to a new larger premises. It has been an exciting time for the company with a threefold increase in staff numbers, significant expansion of its manufacturing and product development operations as well as continued strong growth of UK and international export sales.
Zigma’s new premises is ideally located next to Stansted Airport and the M11/M25, making the company accessible to customers UK and internationally based.
The move underlines the rapid growth of Zigma since the merger with TrakMats Europe and allows the company to both present an enhanced professional image and to provide higher levels of service to its valuable customers, both here and abroad – and all under one roof!
